Introduction

Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing aims to develop and practice ways to support people with mental health challenges in recovering from disorders and in promoting the quality of their lives. We are engaged in education and research to contribute to improving the quality of psychiatric and mental health nursing.
Education: We aim to develop nurses who care not only for people with mental health disorders but who also see to the maintenance and promotion of mental health at large. Therefore, students learn about the role and function of psychiatric and mental health nursing not only in facilities and hospitals but also in various other places and situations.
Research: We have undertaken research on phenomena occurring in the clinical psychiatric field. We are also engaged in research in collaboration with clinical nurses.
