Introduction

Elucidation of molecular mechanisms underlying stem cell regulation is of great importance for their clinical applications in regenerative medicine and cancer therapy. Using melanocyte stem cell as a model to study stem cell biology, the overall goal of our research is to delineate molecular and cellular basis of the regulation of tissue stem cells. Consolidation of the data obtained through our research will illustrate an entire molecular and cellular network underpinning stem cell regulation, which will not only contribute complete understanding of stem cell biology, but also provide valuable insights into therapeutic application of stem cells.
