Introduction

Apoptosis is a genetically regulated cellular suicide mechanism that plays a crucial role in development and cellular homeostasis. The major research and educational objective of our laboratory is to understand the molecular basis of neuronal cell death caused by endoplasmic reticulum stress. In particular, we have focused on deciphering the molecular machineries that underlie apoptosis in neural stem cells, hoping to develop therapeutic approaches for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
